Golden Square is a historic public garden in the heart of Soho, dating back to the 1670s when it was laid out on land known as Gelding Close. Originally home to London gentry and later foreign diplomats, it became the centre of the wool and worsted trade in the 19th century. Today it is a paved public garden surrounded by media and advertising companies.
