Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 13th September 2025

1. Introduction

Welcome to DSCVR (“we,” “our,” or “us”). Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services.

We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and other applicable data protection laws.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect and process the following categories of personal data:

  • Personal Information: Name, email address, and contact details when you sign up or contact us.
  • Account Information: Username, password, and preferences if you create an account.
  • Transaction Data: Details of purchases or services you have requested.
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device information, and usage details.
  • Location Data: When using our location-based services with your consent.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data for the following purposes:

  • To facilitate your relationship with creators you subscribe to by sharing your contact information with them.
  • To provide and improve our services.
  • To process transactions and manage your account.
  • To personalise your experience and provide recommendations.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
  • To send marketing communications (only with your consent).
  • To ensure security and prevent fraud.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data based on the following lawful grounds:

  • Consent: Where you have given clear consent — including sending you marketing communications and sharing your data with creators you subscribe to, for which we obtain your explicit consent at the time of subscription.
  • Contractual Necessity: To fulfill a contract with you.
  • Legal Obligation: Compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Legitimate Interests: For business improvement, fraud prevention, and security.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We may share your personal data with:

  • Service Providers: Companies that help us operate our services (e.g., payment processors, hosting providers).
  • Legal Authorities: When required by law or to protect our rights.
  • Business Transfers: In case of a merger, sale, or acquisition of assets.
  • Creators and Influencers: When you subscribe to a creator on our platform, we will share your email address with that specific creator to allow them to manage their subscriber list and send you content or newsletters. Once shared, that creator becomes a separate data controller for your information and their own privacy policy governs its use.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.

6. International Data Transfers

If we transfer your data outside the UK or EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy. We securely delete or anonymise data when it is no longer required.

8. Your Rights

Under the UK GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You can request deletion of your personal data at any time directly within the app using the 'Delete Account' feature in the profile/settings page. This will permanently remove your personal data from our systems, subject to any overriding legal obligations.
  • Restriction: Request to limit processing of your data.
  • Objection: Object to certain types of processing.
  • Data Portability: Request transfer of your data to another service provider.
  • Withdraw Consent: Withdraw any consent you have provided.

Important:When you subscribe to a creator, we share your data with them and they become a separate and independent controller of that data. Deleting your account within our app removes all data we hold — but does not automatically delete data held by creators you have subscribed to. To be removed from a creator's systems, contact that creator directly.

9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings.

10. Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.

12. Contact Information

If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or your data, please contact us at hello@letsdiscover.app.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at www.ico.org.uk.
